Standard Process Nutritional Detox. What’s it all about?
I’ve been blogging about my Detox for 3 weeks now and I’ve been asked – Where can I get more info? Here are some of the basics. There is a link at the bottom of the blog to the Standard Process site. On this site you can print out the literature. - Sheli Kelly
The Standard Process Nutritional Detox Kit contains the following items:
SP Cleanse – for purification
SP Complete – for nutritious supplement smoothies
Gastro-Fiber – for fiber support
SP Green Food – for phytonutrients
Your body collects junk. This “junk” comes from the food you eat, the water you drink, and the air you breathe. Simply living creates waste like ammonia and carbon dioxcide.
It’s the job of your liver, lymphatic system, kidneys, lungs, intestines, blood, and skin to filter these toxins from your body. When overloaded, you body becomes inefficient. Like a furnace with a clogged filter, it collects toxins.
What is Purification?
Purification is merely the internal cleansing and detoxification of your body. Think of it as “spring cleaning” for your insides.
It requires making new, healthier choices for yourself. You will be discontinuing fast foods, processed convenience foods, and sugar laden snacks, which place unnecessary load on your body. Say goodbye to cheeseburgers, French fries, salt, sugar, and dairy products. Say hello to whole, unprocessed, preservative free foods, lots of pure spring water, tasty shakes, and whole food supplements.
In the process, you will learn about your body and it’s needs. You’re also likely to shed some extra weight. Rid yourself of accumulated sludge. And expel energy-zapping Wastes.*

Nutritional Detox Tuesday Update (on Wednesday!)
I am in my 3rd and final week of the Standard Process Nutritional Detox. I added exercise to my regimen last Tuesday. I am doing both cardio and weight work. Cardio is 3-4 times a week and weight work is 2 times a week. Both at least a half hour at a time. I will admit that the Elliptical Machine really whipped me but when I got on a similar machine yesterday I did WAY better. I also think I found that elusive “thing” called metabolism that I thought I had lost forever.
I still have healthy eating habits (I don’t want to call it a diet because I am changing my unhealthy lifestyle to a healthier one) and do my smoothies 3 times a day along with supplements.
Drum roll please………I am 1 lb away from an amazing 15 lb weight loss!
The best part is, like I’ve said before, that I feel and look amazing (skin cleared up and is luminous) and I have not felt like I was starving.

Nutritional Detox Tuesday Update
I won’t tell you what I weighed before I started this Standard Process Detox but will tell you that I have dropped 9 pounds in the 1st week. That’s 9 pounds of unwanted “stuff” that my body has rid itself of in one week. I know you must think I’m starving myself or something but I’m not. I eat a sensible breakfast, lunch and dinner. I get to have 2-3 nutritional shakes per day plus I get to have a healthy snack twice a day (this is hard for me because I’m not a snacker and I forget). I have changed my diet. I’m eating MUCH healthier. This accounts for a lot of the weight loss I’m sure, but I’ve never felt like a million bucks while loosing weight! I have so much energy that I just want to get out and do everything!
If you have questions please ask. I will answer truthfully.

Nutritional Detox - Part 2
I started the second step of my Standard Process cleanse today. I weighed myself this morning and I’m down nearly 5 pounds. I have a slight headache again but that was to be expected and my bladder is working overtime. As I stated earlier, I have been working on the liver cleanse along with drinking my 2-3 shakes/day and modifying my diet. The shakes actually taste wonderful. I make a couple different frozen concoctions either with my large blender or my handheld blender using fresh bananas, frozen blueberries, frozen cherries, frozen peaches and frozen mangos. The shakes are actually very large and filling.
Today I started with the next set of supplements. Standard Process Gastro-Fiber and Green Food. I have had LOTS of energy and I am drinking a lot of water. I expect that this being the first weekend of starting the “next” step that I may have interesting news to post on Tuesday. Remember…I have never done a cleanse and it is my first step to trying to be healthier. I’m not getting any younger!

A Great Pair of Tennis Shoe's & some Great Orthotics
The way the orthotics work is you take out the inside of your current tennis shoe or your shoe could be too tight. BUT some shoes are glued and you can't remove the insert. It just so happens that the New Balance 505's have a removable insert. This has made life for my knee's a bit better!

I'm finally starting my NUTRITIONAL DETOX!!
No, this is not an April Fool’s joke. I’m finally starting my nutritional detox program.
I know there are a lot of you out there that have been wondering when this detox was actually going to take place but the doctor thought I probably had a pretty high yeast level in my body that we needed to get rid of. We’ve worked that out and I have to say that the intestinal issues that I had have subsided. I believe the regimen she had me on along with preventative chiropractic care have helped regulate my body in ways it hadn’t been in a long time.
My first step, since I’ve never done one, is to do a liver cleanse. I started taking my Betafood (for the liver cleanse) yesterday. The tablets consist of beet root, beet leaf, oat flour and dried beet root juice. They pretty much smell like dried grass or hay. No taste. I’ve gotten a slight headache. I’m guessing from this step in the cleanse but you have to understand - I’ve NEVER tried to get toxin’s out of my body before. I’m real good at putting them in (alcohol, burgers, fries, sugars, chemicals that I touch or simply breath) so one has to expect a bit of a reaction. The doctors father has been doing this cleanse for a week or so and has gone down at least one size in clothing. He had to go out and buy new clothes. Now I don’t expect this to happen to me 1 because I’m female and our junk just clings to us and 2 I don’t want to get my hopes too high. I have been watching Doctor Kristin shrink a bit (I think she’s down at least 6lbs this week) and know something will happen.
Right now I am having my first shake on the cleanse. This shake is a dietary supplement that I have added blueberries and a banana to. For me, I will do 3 shakes a day along with my modified diet – as much organic as possible, lean proteins, fruits and veggies. There is suppose to be NO alcohol. This means I’ve given up my red wine for a while. And nothing processed. You have to strive to behave. I know I’ll need your support!
Friday starts more tablets and then we’ll be getting some serious detox started.

Take your Vitamins and Supplements
I just want to start being healthy and then with that will come feeling better and wanting to get out and do more. Just taking my high quality vitamins, Activ Essentials w/calcium (this is important because a lot of what you buy at the store may not be quality) and CoQ 10 from Xymogen is helping my energy level a lot. Here’s what comes in the convenient little packet of vitamins (which I throw in my purse and take with me anywhere):
*A high quality, hypoallergenic, proprietary multivitamin-mineral blend in vegetable capsules
*Omega Pure 300 EC – fish oil
*Oraxinol – a Great antioxidant with a pretty darn good ORAC value
*Ossopan - Calcium
Go out and find some high quality vitamins. We carry Xymogen. A local wellness office in your area may carry them as well.
I also have to let you know that this company has a great variety of other supplements. We use their IgG quite often to boost our immune systems around here. There are just too many to mention so you’ll just have to call the office or stop by and see our stock and the catalog.
